Bakkafrost Yet Another Catamaran from KJ

On Thursday, 26th of September, the catamaran Hagagjógv set sail from the port in Fuglafjørður, heading towards Klaksvík in the Faroe Islands, where it will find its new home. This vessel will be utilized at a farming site near Klaksvík.

Hagagjógv is the 18th catamaran in a series built by KJ and made its debut for Pan Fish Faroes back in 2007. Over the years, it has changed ownership multiple times, with its most recent owner being the Icelandic salmon farming company, Arnarlax.

KJ acquired the catamaran last year in the wake of a minor fire incident in the steering house. Following comprehensive renovations, the catamaran has been fully restored and is ready for operation once more.

In terms of specifications, the Hagagjógv measures 12 meters in length and 6 meters in width, with a gross tonnage of 17. It features two FPT N60 engines and an 18-ton meter Palfinger crane on its deck.

KJ extends congratulations to Bakkafrost on acquiring the catamaran!
