KJ COMPLETES MAINTENANCE WORK ON ISAFOLD FISHING VESSEL
The innovative and extraordinary pelagic fishing ship, Isafold, was moored at the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn, during the Christmas holidays, where some servicing was required. KJ took on maintenance tasks onboard, including repairing the large lifting cylinder on the deck’s knuckle boom crane, fixing some oil leaks, and replacing gaskets. Furthermore, KJ performed some welding on a vacuum tank, used when the vessel is docked for fish offloading.
Ørvar Jacobsen, the Service Manager at KJ, has given his seal of approval for the operation. In his own words, “The maintenance work was carried out quickly and well done by our skilled mechanics, and Isafold went back to sea for pelagic fishing on January 2nd.” Jacobsen’s statement highlights the efficiency and expertise of the team, as well as the prompt resumption of Isafold’s pelagic fishing operations.
The images were taken by KJ on 9th January 2024 while Isafold was in Fuglafjørður in the Faroe Islands, delivering Marcel to the Pelagos production facility.
